Margaret Christian
President, PICA Programs
Margaret Christian joined PICA in 2004. Her experience includes supervising the life and long-term care division of a large property and casualty insurance company, while managing regional business that included all functional areas of issuing new and existing business. She also managed a sizable customer service call center for three years prior to that. Margaret holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Austin Peay State University and a Master in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix.
Luke Cicchinelli, DPM
Chief Medical Director
Dr. Luke Cicchinelli, DPM, is the Chief Medical Director with over 30 years’ experience both domestically and internationally as a podiatric surgeon, consultant, speaker, and educator in sports medicine, reconstructive surgery of the foot and ankle, and diabetes limb salvage, including 28 years as a lead surgeon on humanitarian missions in pediatric surgery in Central and South America. His wife, Dr. Devonne Roman, DPM is also a podiatrist and they have worked together in private practice and he as a consultant surgeon in multiple clinics throughout the US, Spain and the European Union as well as Saudia Arabia, and Australia. He has been a senior consultant in medical education and product invention and development throughout North America and EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa). Dr. Cicchinelli is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (USA), a Fellow of the Australasian College of Podiatric Surgery (Australia) and Colegiado in Galicia and Austurias (Spain). Dr. Cicchinelli and Dr. Roman have 3 children: Angelica 24, Estela 21 and Gianluca 19, currently studying and living between Spain and the United States.
Lori Watson
Vice President, Claims
Lori Watson, Esq., is the Vice President of Claims. Ms. Watson joined ProAssurance in October 2002 and has managed the LawyerCare claims department since November 2003. Prior to joining ProAssurance, Ms. Watson managed environmental and toxic tort claims as a Senior Claims Representative at Lexington Insurance Company in Boston, MA. Ms. Watson began her legal career in private practice at Fitzhugh & Associates in Boston, a mid‐sized insurance defense firm. Ms. Watson’s practice at the firm concentrated on environmental insurance coverage actions throughout the New England region. Ms. Watson holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the School of Speech at Northwestern University, Evanston, IL, and her Juris Doctor from Boston University School of Law. She is currently licensed to practice law in Massachusetts and Connecticut.
Mariah Wilson
Vice President, Product
Mariah Wilson, MBA, is the Vice President of Product and Data Management. Mariah joined the company in 2014. She has over 16 years of insurance underwriting experience with 13 of those specialized in Medical Professional Liability. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from The University of Alabama at Birmingham as well as a Master of Business Administration from University of Phoenix.
Lisa Reese
Vice President, Customer Acquisition & Retention
Lisa Reese, is the Vice President of Customer Acquisition and Retention. She is a licensed agent in Property & Casualty and Health & Life with over 16 years in the insurance industry. She joined PICA in 2010 as a podiatry account manager and has since held other leadership positions in policy services, sales, and marketing. Prior to joining PICA, Ms. Reese worked in health and life insurance and spent 18 years in sales and management positions in various industries including transportation, gifts and stationery, and publishing. She attended Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, Tennessee where she earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing and Jackson State Community College in Jackson, Tennessee where she earned an Associate of Science in Information Systems Management.
Richard Butler
Vice President, Underwriting
Richard Butler, RPLU is the Vice President of Underwriting and has over 26 years of underwriting experience. Richard Butler joined Medmarc in 2001. Prior to joining Medmarc, Mr. Butler was a reinsurance underwriter with LDG Reinsurance Company (“LDG”). At LDG, he underwrote and managed pro‐rata and excess of loss treaty reinsurance business. Before joining LDG, he was with Lexington Insurance Company where he was an excess and surplus lines underwriter. Mr. Butler started his career and received his primary underwriting training with Liberty Mutual Insurance Company in Massachusetts. Mr. Butler attended Suffolk University in Boston, Massachusetts and holds the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (“CPCU”), Associate in Reinsurance (“ARe”), Associate in Surplus Lines Insurance (“ASLI”), and Associate in Risk Management (“ARM”), designations from the Insurance Institute of America. He also holds the Registered Professional Liability Underwriter (RPLU) designation from the Professional Liability Underwriting Society (PLUS).
