Risk Management Focus: Current Topics in Podiatric Risk Management 2017

Rosemary Gafner and James Schutte

Course Description
This is a course on "risk management" rather than "risk avoidance" because human errors can never be completely eliminated. However, they can be managed by identifying and correcting the causes of recurrent errors, and by instituting and following consistent communication and documentation policies that minimize the frequency of errors and make it easier to catch and correct them before they lead to patient harm. We aim to provide you with a better understanding of the liability risks faced by your own practice, and what you can do to minimize them.

PICA is approved by the Council on Podiatric Medical Education as a provider of continuing education in podiatric medicine. PICA has approved this activity for a maximum of 3.0 continuing education contact hours.
